A Cinco de Mayo Q&A with Origlio Off-Premise Sales Rep Matt McLaughlin

Which products should retailers prioritize for Cinco displays this year?

You really can’t go wrong with any brands in our Mexican portfolio, but focus on displays for Corona, Modelo, & Dos Equis. And don’t forget about Pacifico & Famosa being rising stars!

What display placements and cross-merchandising setups are performing best in the market?

High-traffic areas up front, as you walk into the store or on the way to the cold box, are the best places for displays.

Additionally, anytime you have a brand family on display, like Corona Extra, Light, and Premier or Modelo Especial with Negra and Oro, it always helps to cross-merchandise them to boost each other. Placing Corona and Modelo brands side by side also encourages cross-merchandising and increases visibility.

What is one easy adjustment stores can still make this week to improve sell-through?

Keep ‘em COLD COLD COLD! With the warmer weather and Cinco leading us into the summer, accounts should make sure they have enough cold backstock of the Mexican imports that move the needle.
