Salvator is a bottom-fermented, rich and hearty dopplebock, superbly balanced and true to its world-renowned reputation for quality. It is reddish brown in color and has a smoky, sweet malty nose with accents of Hallertau hops. Paulaner Salvator has a strong, typically malty flavor. The Paulaner monks used to drink Salvator as a food substitute during Lent.
