A Day in the Life of Origlio Beverage Sales Representative Natalie McCaffrey

How This Origlio Employee Delivers Top-notch Customer Service at Each Stop

Origlio Beverage Sales Representative Natalie McCaffrey

In the bustling world of beverage distribution, the role of an Origlio Beverage Sales Representative is a dynamic and multifaceted one. Natalie McCaffrey has been working in this role for eight years and provides a compelling glimpse into a “typical” workday. From meticulous planning to overcoming unexpected challenges, McCaffrey’s day is a testament to the complexities and rewards of the job.

Morning Preparation: Geography and Goals

McCaffrey’s day begins with a strategic approach to planning. Her first task is to map out her schedule based on geography. “I look at the area that I’ll be in and then determine which accounts I need to visit,” she explains. This geographical focus allows her to efficiently plan her route and confirm that she’s fully prepared for each stop.

Her preparation involves arming herself with the proper promotional materials and new samples for her accounts. “Most days, this includes sell sheets, as well as lists of rotating keg options and seasonal products,” she says.

“Natalie possesses the ability to fully understand the task at hand and formulate it into a strategic plan to stay focused. She demonstrates incredible organizational skills and creates a clear presentation to make the process as smooth as possible for each account she visits,” says John Santucci, On-Premise Sales District Manager for Origlio.

Natalie meets with the Beverage Manager at Al Pastor in Havertown, reviewing order details and
providing seasonal product samples that she thinks the restaurant’s clientele will enjoy.

Prioritizing and Making the Sale

Once she is on the road, her priorities shift towards aligning her sales targets with the specific needs of each account. “I think about what I’m selling and how it can align with the account I’m visiting,” she notes. This alignment ensures mutually beneficial sales, guaranteeing that both the customer’s needs and the company’s goals are met.

“We can always count on Natalie for completing the key steps for a successful sales call,” says Santucci. “She creates genuine relationships, she is reliable, and always follows up with each customer. When given a task such as, selling in draught, promotions, or new products, Natalie creates an expertly organized plan and brings the appropriate tools for success to achieve her goals.”

Providing Top-Notch Customer Service

At the heart of McCaffrey’s approach is a commitment to excellent customer service. She emphasizes the importance of listening to and understanding each customer’s unique needs. “I think it’s important to ask questions and communicate clearly to make sure we are on the same page,” she explains.

Building trust with customers is crucial. McCaffrey strives to position herself as an advisor, assisting her accounts to make a decision that best fits their needs. “It’s important to gain the customer’s trust so they value you as an advisor to their business,” she adds. This trust is essential for fostering long-term relationships and making sure that customers feel she has their best interests at heart.

Natalie helps her account, Marple Public House, by hanging promotional signage for upcoming Sunday football draught specials, as part of Yuengling’s All America Tailgate promotion.

Tools and Techniques for Success

To manage her day effectively, McCaffrey relies on a combination of traditional and modern tools. Aside from her company iPad, her approach is decidedly oldschool with a notepad and pen. “I list out my accounts for the day with goals to accomplish,” she says. This method allows her to keep detailed notes and make reminders for tasks such as grabbing tap handles or requesting signage. McCaffrey also offers suggestions on product giveaways, signage, and drink specials to run at local events at which her accounts are participating.

Being organized and goal-oriented is key. “Knowing what goal I am trying to accomplish in each account helps me pivot if needed,” McCaffrey explains.

Wrapping Up the Day

To close out her day, McCaffrey takes time to review her visits and verify that all necessary follow-up actions are noted. This might include sending follow-up emails, making phone calls, or setting up future appointments. Her end-of-day routine involves assessing what worked well and what could be improved, in addition to preparing for the next day’s challenges.

Natalie reviews the account’s current inventory and bestsellers in preparation for a
successful meeting with the Beverage Manager.

Key Takeaways for Success

For those considering a career as a Sales Representative, McCaffrey offers a few essential tips… “Show up, follow up, and follow through,” she advises.

These principles are fundamental to building strong client relationships and achieving sales success. Additionally, being solution-oriented and adaptable in the face of challenges can make a significant difference in navigating the complexities of the role.

A day in the life of an Origlio Beverage Sales Representative combines strategic planning, client-focused service, and agile problem-solving. McCaffrey’s approach exemplifies the dedication and skill required to thrive in the competitive world of beverage sales. Whether facing unexpected issues or crafting a personalized sales pitch, her day reflects the main goal of an Origlio Beverage Sales Representative: always going above and beyond to satisfy customers’ needs.
