What positions have you held in the company? I have worked in the graphics department since the beginning. First as a traffic coordinator, then junior graphic designer, senior graphic designer, managing graphic designer and I’m currently the special projects manager and creative team lead (art director).
What does your current job entail? The graphics department works as a team to provide accounts with custom signage to support beer sales. We produce thousands of prints annually, wrap our delivery fleet with lettering graphics and provide cutting-edge materials, so our brands have an effective presence in the market. I am also one of the art directors for Draught Lines magazine, which includes design and photo shoots.
What do you like most about your job? The versatility. In a single day, I can be working on a photoshoot in the morning and applying truck graphics in the afternoon. There aren’t many career opportunities that offer that array of tasks. It definitely keeps things exciting!
What does it take to be a top-notch graphic designer? Graphic design is ever-evolving. We work in a fast-paced environment, where staying on top of technology is of the utmost importance. You have to be organized, pay close attention to detail and never lose your creative edge. I also believe that being open to criticism and listening closely to the wants and needs of our customers helps things run more smoothly
What do you like to do when you’re not working? I’m a bit of a geek. I love gadgets and electronics and creating designs (digital and tactical). I also enjoy sports cars, taking pictures and drinking an occasional beer!
If you could be anywhere drinking any beer, where would you be and what beer would be in your hand? I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii and I think a Dogfish Head SeaQuench Ale would be a perfect complement to that setting.
