Captain Henry Sawyer was shot, imprisoned and slated for execution by the Confederacy during the Civil War. He was eventually swapped for the son of General Lee and spent his remaining years in Cape May. In his honor, Cape May brewed Sawyer's Swap: an American barleywine that will age gracefully, while avoiding an execution.
