Sixpoint Brewery

Sixpoint Brewery was founded within an 800 square foot garage in Red Hook, Brooklyn in 2004. Prior to that, Founder and President Shane C. Welch had brewed over 1,000 individual batches of beer in his kitchen, basement and garage at home, making up the wide spectrum of creative styles available today. The name “Sixpoint” is derived from the ancient six-pointed brewer’s star, which has been a symbol of purity that adorned breweries and barrels since at least the Middle Ages. The intention behind Sixpoint is to honor and respect the rich traditions, heritage and culture of beer while forging ahead to creatively generate new styles and build strong relationships within the community.

All of the current Sixpoint canned offerings are based upon these original homebrewed recipes. They have specifically chosen cans—not bottles—as their packaging format because research and testing showed it protected the beer from light and oxidation the best, and was the least energy and resource intensive way to deliver our customers the creations they have demanded for years.

Sixpoint Bengali Tiger

ABV: 6.4%

Sixpoint Brewery

The Sixpoint homebrewed IPA interpretation entices you with an aroma of citrus, pine and spice and unleashes a wave of bitterness up front. Yet it strides forward at a steady pace, smooth as a tiger’s gait and finishes balanced. Notice the lacing of stripes around the glass as you finish your pint. It’s the mark of the Bengali Tiger.

Sixpoint Sweet Action

ABV: 5.2%

Sixpoint Brewery

The original Sixpoint style—hard to define, but perhaps that’s why people love it. Part pale ale, part wheat, part cream ale—all Sweet Action. This beer is a representation of what makes beer great – the marriage of barley and hops in a harmonious balance for your mind, body and soul. The sweet is from the barley malt while the action is from the hops – the bittering spice.

Sixpoint Righteous Rye Ale

ABV: 6.3%

Sixpoint Brewery

Made with Rye malt to provide a signature and distinct earthy character. This beer is seasoned and dry-hopped with herbal and citrus hops. Truly Righteous.

Sixpoint The Crisp

ABV: 5.4%

Sixpoint Brewery

This is the original Crisp Lager from Sixpoint, praised for its clean flavor and noble grassy hop bitterness and aroma. Can you say “Sehr Crisp?”

Sixpoint Diesel

ABV: 6.6%

Sixpoint Brewery

A dark stout beer should always cross the finish line strong and Sixpoint Diesel powers itself to victory with room to spare. Diesel has character and substance, a deep roasted flavor and full-bodied toffee sweetness. A cleansing, citrus and grassy hop bitterness follows every swallow.

Sixpoint Signal

ABV: 6.0%

A malty, fruit-punchy India Pale Ale with a slightly spicy kick to it that finishes dry, setting you up perfectly for that next sip. It also includes a fair amount of smoked malt that is especially noticeable in the finish.

Sixpoint Resin

ABV: 9.1%

Sixpoint Brewery

Resin celebrates the bittering resin secreted from the lupulin glands of the hop cone. It is a strong ale with an abundance of American hop flavor. Loosely described as a Double IPA (rarely do any of Sixpoint’s beers neatly fit into a particular style guideline), Resin will be the first craft beer available in a 12 oz. “sleek” can.

Sixpoint Harbinger

ABV: 4.9%

Sixpoint Brewery

Dry and spicy in true Belgian farmhouse tradition, but spiced with the mark of the Mad Scientists: dank hop blending creates a fresh Spring bouquet in a can.
