Releta Brewing Co. (Mendocino Brewing Co.)
Mendocino Brewing Company (The Hopland Brewery) opened on August 14, 1983 and was the first brewpub in California since Prohibition and the second in the U.S. The next few years saw regularly increasing production to meet the growing demand for its signature Red Tail Ale. In 1987, the company started wholesale distribution and within a year Red Tail Ale, Blue Heron and Black Hawk Stout were being distributed in 14 states nationally, all in large bottles. When Mendocino began offering their beers in traditional 12-ounce bottles the following year, the brewery made it a point to create a brand imagery that would be memorable. In 1997, construction was begun on a new, modern brewery in nearby Uakiah.

Kingfisher
Kingfisher's heritage started with five small breweries in South India, the oldest of which, Castle Breweries, dated back to 1857. Then in 1915, Thomas Leishman, a Scotsman, combined these breweries to form United Breweries Ltd. The popularity of their beers soon spread and within a short time, bullock carts carrying huge 'hogsheads' of Kingfisher became a familiar sight in Madras, the Nilgiris and Bangalore, the headquarters of United Breweries Ltd. Almost immediately, the brew from UB became a favorite, especially with the British troops.
