MillerCoors
(Molson/Coors)
MillerCoors grew from the dreams of two German entrepreneurs who came to America in the mid-19th century. In 1855 Frederick J. Miller, brought his passion for beer to the United States and settled in Milwaukee, WI. Shortly after his transition he bought the Plank Road Brewery and made his first beer using yeast he had carried all the way from Europe.Adolph Coors was born in Prussia and apprenticed at a brewery as a young teen. With his characteristic spirit, he stowed away on a ship to get to America to bring his brewing dream to life. In 1873 he tapped his first barrel for Coors Brewing at The Golden Brewery in Colorado. Both companies had the good fortune to have family members carry on the work and legacy of the founders. When all businesses of the time were faced with Prohibition, two world wars many failed, however these founding companies built their success barrel by barrel. At MillerCoors there are two wonderful traditions that joined in 2008 to form one promising company.

Molson
MOLSON CANADIANABV: 5% |
A solid bitterness draws a line as sharp as the border through this one: Canadian beer here. If you haven't had a Molson Canadian for a while, check back in and re-calibrate your taste buds. And when you do, make sure to pair it with barbecued chicken, chili, or hot wings. Molson Canadian has the guts to stand up to spice. This one's a little like Canada's famed fishing lakes: a bit different, a bit rough and ready, and a bit irresistible. Distinctly more flavorful than your run-of-the-mill beer. |
MOLSON CANADIAN LIGHTABV: 3.9% |
Good head retention for a light beer, nice look to at. Molson's light beer has some real graininess to it, actual flavor, not just a dull buzz of carbonation and a slight sweetness, the footprint of so many light beers. More like drinking a "beer," less like drinking a "light." Try it with fried shrimp, broiled white fish, or pasta primavera. |
MOLSON GOLDENABV: 5% |
Smooth as the surface of a glacier or an import-export lawyer. Molson Golden is the Toronto to Molson Canadian's Yukon: smooth, sophisticated and easy-going. The beer's less bitter than Canadian, with more malt flavor coming through. Try this with pan-fried chicken, broiled salmon, pasta with light cream or white clam sauce. It's easy to see why Golden made so many friends for Molson in the 1980s. Give it a try now. |
MOLSON ICEABV: 5.6% |
The characteristic fuller body and heft of an ice beer coupled with the smooth flow of a rushing stream. Molson Ice takes that strength and makes it look easy. There's a reason the best ice beers came from Canada and still do. Roast chicken or turkey, pork tenderloin and clam chowder all go really well with this ice beer! |
MOLSON XXXABV: 7.3% |
XXX is no lie: there's power here, you taste at the first sip. There's a malt flow up front that pulls you into a quick sweetness just as the WHAM hits you on the swallow. This is a deceptively complex beer that has some surprising stuff going on. Or you can just drink it for the fun of it. XXX doesn't mind. Don't laugh: this beer is brilliant with a big fresh Cinnabon (still warm). Or you can have it with pizza and calzones. But try the Cinnabon, it's amazing. |
