How long have you been with the company?
A little over 10 years.
What does your current position entail?
I'm a point of contact for certain suppliers we represent. It's sort of like a jack of all trades. I have my hands in sales, marketing and inventory.
What other positions have you held in the company?
Started as a non-alcoholic sales rep, then I moved over to selling beer. After that I became an on-premise manager, then on- AND off-premise manager in Lancaster. Most recently, I became a brand manager for both of our locations.
What has been the best thing about your job?
I'm able to have the perspective of the supplier as well as the perspective of the wholesaler. So I get the best of both worlds, which I enjoy. Plus I have my hands in a lot of different things so it's always interesting.
What does it take to be a top notch brand manager?
You have to be very good at building strong relationships, because in a lot of cases the representation from the suppliers changes. You need good knowledge of all aspects of sales, marketing and inventory. I think you have to be flexible and able to adapt; I'm still learning new things every day.
What do you like to do when you're not working?
I'm an avid sports fan, I like live music and spending time with my family.
